Naturescapes 2025 Exhibition
Naturescapes concluded another successful exhibition at the San Marcos Activity Center’s Walkers’ Gallery on October 24.
As the only juried exhibition at the Walkers’ Gallery, Naturescapes continues to highlight exceptional nature photography from across the region. This year’s juror was acclaimed photographer Carol Watson, recipient of the Lucie Award for New Discovery of the Year in 2005 and the first amateur photographer selected to appear in two IPA Best of Show traveling exhibitions. Her images have been displayed in numerous galleries throughout the U.S. and around the world. Her work has appeared in various books and magazines, including World’s Greatest Black and White Photography and National Geographic Traveler.
This year’s contest received 276 entries from 45 photographers. Carol selected 60 images representing the work of 27 photographers, including two youth participants.
The contest is co-sponsored by the Hays County Master Naturalist Chapter and the Hill Country Photography Club. Our Master Naturalist chapter has served as a co-sponsor since 2011, supporting the contest’s mission to increase public awareness of the importance of protecting our natural world.
