The Gulf Fritillary video above is courtesy of husband-and-wife team Bob Currie and Salwa Khan, whose careful observations documented the transformation of the Gulf Fritillary from egg to butterfly on a passion vine at their home.
Bob Currie is an award-winning videographer and Hays County Master Naturalist. Salwa Khan, PhD, is the producer and host of the monthly podcast Mothering Earth.
In 2025, Bob’s video Patsy Glenn Refuge won First Place in the Annual Texas Master Naturalist Video Contest. He also received the Hays County Master Naturalist 2025 Special Achievement Award.
